Project 2 – Finale

I have now finished with my 30 seconds music video teaser! After I’ve edited the pictures I took the other day and have put them all together, I think it looks pretty good. The main thing I’ve got left t do is to develop my triptych photographs of an eye.

Project 2 – Experiments experiments..

I’ve done some experiments on my window, using marker and glass cleaner spray. Need just to edit it and see how it looks. If I’m not happy with it, I’ll have to try something else or use the same technique, but in a different way.

Also, I’ve organised a right order of frames for the video.

Project 2 – GIF’s making and Dragonframe

Today I’ve  mainly learnt how to use program ‘Dragonframe’ and how to make stop motion videos using it, also I’ve learnt how to make GIF’s using ‘Photoshop’. That was quite a useful information, although it has totally changed my mind about the way I want to do my stop motion project. I’m feeling looooooost.

Project 1 – Finale!

Finally I’ve finished with my first proper project! I’ve really enjoyed doing it! I’ve chosen to make a memorial book for these beautiful women, that have been tragically killed by Jack the Ripper. I’ve focused on women, that’s why I’ve represented them as lilies, because most of them had children and had a really hard life. It is disappointing how people see them just as Jacks victims, but these ladies didn’t deserve it.

So this book is binded with a black ribbon, that obviously represents death, respect and sadness. I’ve chosen to make a really simple, black and white coves, only because there are a lot of things that is happening inside of the book. Inside: left hand side pages have a nicknames of ladies, the names how they were known by, framed with four lilies. The right hand side pages has Jack The Ripper letters, that has been sent to the police or Whitechapel hospital. Every letter has a red-blooded” lily on top.

There are few things I’m still not really happy about, but as my first ever book I made, I’m pretty happy with it!

Project No.2 – The Begining

We’ve finally found out what our second project is and I’m really excited about it! We have to create 30 second teaser for a stop motion music video. It gives so many opportunities to do lots of different things, that it makes me feel lost about it. Also as deeper as I go into it, as scared I get, knowing that I’ve got no experience in making videos. There’s so much more I need to learn!

I’m really slowly moving forward: found a song I’m gonna use (asked musicians if it’s fine and they were happy about it, so no copyright stuff.. ), chose a part I’m gonna use and thought about some rough ideas of taking some pictures in the city and few other bits.. There’s only one thing that kind of ruined everything – my foot. I had an accident and now I might have to change the idea and do that project at home, because I can’t give much pressure for my miserable foot. Oh well… I need to learn how to walk..

The stuff they do is really optimistic and playful. I like the thing that they uses lot’s of different colours, and their illustrations are really creative. They have got their own different style also.

Nous Vous does a lot of children books also.

Risograph Workshop/ Book Binding Workshop

Today we had a book binding induction. Started with looking at different kind of books, printed with risograph or screen printer. There were many interesting examples, that gave me many ideas for my book for Petticoat Lane project. There’s some examples:

After this, we’ve started binding our own books using glue. It’s a really simple, but exiting way to do it. I’ve made myself a very first notebook! Also, after this tutor has shown us few more different ways you can bind your books. There was a lot to learn from!

Other half of the day we’ve spent organising and doing riso printing. It was a bit disappointing to find out about a price for it and the thing that we’re not allowed to use it by ourselves, we have to be with a tutor. There’s what we did today:
